PowerMeterWell Google is at it again, creating yet another awesome tool and of course it is free to use, when it launches! Last week as I was surfing the internet I came across a very interesting concept. The Google PowerMeter application will allow home owners with Smart Meters to have their power usage sent to their Google PowerMeter application so that it can be measured, Analise and help home owners save!

The great thing about this idea is that once home owners make the switch to LED Lighting, within just hours they will be able to see the savings, at the moment home owners need to wait till the next bill and see the before and after differences. The idea is great as when people can see the benefits right away their engagement with reducing power is increased. People all too often quit as the results are too far away or can not be seen NOW.

The Google PowerMeter application is just in its early days and is only being tested with some Google employers and in the States of course, who knows how long it will be till it comes to Australia. Keep your eyes opened and we will also let you know if any more information comes to hand.
